L1 Support Specialist (Payments | High-Risk)

About the Role

Our client is looking for an L1 Support Specialist to join their payments operations team. This role focuses on providing first-line operational support for payment processes in a high-risk environment, working closely with merchants, payment providers, and internal teams to ensure smooth transaction processing.

This is a great opportunity for candidates with experience in payment operations, payment gateways, PSPs, or merchant acquiring, who are detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and process payment transactions.
Communicate with merchants regarding payment-related issues.
Communicate with payment providers to resolve transaction-related cases.
Investigate failed or delayed transactions.
Update and manage transaction statuses in the internal admin panel.
Correct transaction information when required according to internal procedures.
Escalate complex or non-standard cases to the Team Lead.
Ensure accurate processing of payment operations while following internal guidelines.
Maintain clear and professional written communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

Experience working with payment operations, payment gateways, PSPs, merchant acquiring, or payment aggregators.
Good understanding of payment flows and transaction lifecycle.
Experience in high-risk payments is a strong advantage.
Previous experience in iGaming, Forex, Crypto, FinTech, or other high-risk industries is preferred.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Good written communication skills.
